Kleftiko (Traditional Cyprus dish)

 

Ingredients 

2 kilos of  big pieces of lamb or beef

2-3 bay leaves

Salt, Pepper and a stick of cinnamon

2 glasses of water.

Preparation

If you have time you can marinade all the ingredients (except the water),and leave to marinade over night or even for a few hours.

Next day put all the ingredients into a pot,add the water,cover the pot and cook in the oven for about 2-3 hours on a medium heat at 180 degrees c.

You can check the meat after an hour or so to make sure that there is enough water.

When is ready the meat should fall from the bone.

You can also add potatoes on the pot with the meat and you would have the most tasty potatoes ever.

Serve with a lovely Greek salad and onion.
